Dr. Ulrike Mäder is in charge of the microbial transcriptomics platform of the University of Greifswald. She has many years of expertise in the field of DNA arrays techniques, with a recent focus on whole-transcriptome approaches. Her main research interests include transcriptional regulatory networks and mRNA processing in Gram-positive bacteria. Dr. Mäder is essentially involved in establishing and maintaining Subtiwiki (http://subtiwiki.uni-goettingen.de/), a wiki-type database for Bacillus subtilis.

Drs. Ruben A.T. Mars is a PhD student on the UMCG team. He is particularly interested in technologies that will make fundamental and applied molecular cell biology a more defined field of research. Specific interests: high-throughput screens, population heterogeneity, metabolic engineering, synthetic biology, systems biology, and industrial biotechnology of Bacillus subtilis.
