Dr. Victor Chubukov is a postdoctoral researcher in the Sauer Lab at the Institute for Molecular Systems Biology at ETH Zurich. He earned his PhD at the University of California, San Francisco, with research focusing on the evolution of transcriptional regulation and optimal regulation of metabolic networks. Within BaSynthec, he is pursuing genome reduction as a means of uncovering the regulation coupling growth and metabolic activity. In part, this will involve characterizing the engineered strains with state of the art metabolomics and flux analysis methods.
