Computational Design

WP2 – Computational design and modelling of reduced genomes will develop models and computational tools to design and drive the reduction of the B. subtilis genome, the construction of synthetic pathways, and the modifications of the genetic circuitry to take into account the strong impact of synthetic metabolic activity on the growth rate. WP2 will improve and expand genome-scale models, refine these models with experimental data generated in the project, develop computational tools for the design of controller devices to regulate synthetic modules, and apply these tools to improve the strains selected for biotechnology applications.
